Angel biscuits recipe

Try this tempting angel biscuits recipe to spice up your meals!

5 c flour

3/4 c shortening

1 tsp soda

1 tsp salt

3 tsp baking powder

3 tbsp sugar

1 pkg yeast

1/2 c water

2 c buttermilk

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until mixed thoroughly. Add buttermilk and dissolved yeast. Work together with large spoon until all flour is moistened. Cover bowl and refrigerate until ready to use, as needed. (Do not store in stainless steel bowl or cover with aluminum foil.) Roll on floured board to 1/2 inch thickness and cut out. Bake at 400 degrees about 12 minutes. Makes 6 dozen and will keep about 3 days in the refrigerator.
